While one may typically think of giving in terms of financial resources, the Bible talks about the giving of our time, our talents, and our treasures alike. Thank you for prayerfully considering ways to support the mission of Reston Presbyterian Church.
Opportunities to Volunteer
There are numerous opportunities within the body of Reston Presbyterian Church to share your time and talents in serving others. We highlight urgent needs each week in our Sunday bulletin. Please contact a church leader or our office to get involved.
The Bible tells us that everything we have is a gift from God (1 Chronicles 29:14). As you give faithfully, the world is changed for the glory of God: the gospel is preached, lives are touched, churches are built; and you, in turn, are blessed by God so that you can give again.
Several safe and secure methods of giving provide convenient ways to offer our tithes and financially contribute to the ministries and body of Reston Presbyterian Church:
1. Weekend service: Simply place cash or checks in the offering plate during the offering at any weekend service. Be sure to include your name and address on the check or envelope, so that donation credit may be provided for tax purposes.
2. Online giving: We also offer the opportunity to make a secure gift online from a bank account or using a credit card or debit card. This convenient and easy-to-use option helps individuals and families remain faithful in their giving even when they are unable to attend a weekend service. We have partnered with a service called FaithStreet, which uses robust encryption and firewall technology to ensure that church and donor information is secure and protected. As with all online giving, processing fees apply. FaithStreet fees include a 30¢ transaction fee plus a 1.5% fee for bank account transactions and 3.5% fee for credit card payments. You have the option to “plus up” your gift to cover all fees, so that the church receives the full donation amount. Following your transaction, you immediately receive an email confirming your donation as a tax receipt.
3. By mail: Mail your donation to Reston Presbyterian Church at 10610 Sunset Hills Road, Reston, VA 20190. Be sure to include your name and address on the check or envelope so that donation credit may be provided for tax purposes.
Non-Cash Gift Giving
We will accept most types of non-cash gifts, provided the gift is determined to be related to the purpose of the church and in the church’s best interest. In order to know if a non-cash gift is in the best interest of Reston Presbyterian Church, please discuss your gift with an elder or officer prior to making your gift to the church. Per IRS regulations, we will acknowledge receipt of accepted gifts by donation receipt with a brief description of the item donated. The church is not responsible for appraisals and will not determine the fair value of donated property. The estimated fair value of the gift will not be reflected on the receipt or the donor’s record of contribution. It is the donor’s responsibility to determine the fair market value of the gift.
