What to Expect

Visiting Us on Sundays

We believe  the most exciting moment of the entire week, is when we gather together as a church family to worship the Risen Savior!

Our hope and aim each Sunday, is that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is proclaimed and embraced in everything we say and do.  Our prayer is that this will be your experience also.

The people of Reston Presbyterian are warm and friendly. Many joining us for the first time remark how welcomed they feel as they cross our threshold. You will know a few names before you even sit down!

Each week our visitors represent a variety of religious backgrounds and spiritual journeys. We are not a formal group; you will see a variety of dress levels, so please come dressed as you prefer.

9:00 Discipleship Hour:  We have a nursery program and classes for kids of all ages.

10:30 Morning Worship Service:  Children in kindergarten through fifth grade join the service for the first part of the service and then are given the option to be dismissed to attend our God’s Kids program (or stay in the sanctuary with parents). On the second Sunday of each month we usually have a children’s message as part of our service before children are dismissed for God’s Kids.  Our Nursery ministry is available throughout the entire worship service.

5:00 Evening Worship Service: Child care is not provided.

Gathering Room: Parents also have the option to use our Gathering Room, a quiet and comfortable space with a live feed of the service. Read more about our programs for children.

Youth & Adults

9:00 Discipleship Hour:  We host discipleship classes nearly every Sunday morning. We offer a variety of studies and classes to guide and inspire the members of our church family on their journeys of faith. Read more here and check our calendar to see information about current classes. Let’s learn and grow together!

We celebrate the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper on the first Sunday of the month at the 10:30 service and the third Sunday each month at the 5:00 pm service.

All professing Christians are welcome to join our table. Please speak with an Elder if you have questions about your children’s readiness to participate. Any visitor not taking communion is still encouraged to come forward for a quick blessing.

After Worship

After the service is over, please join us for coffee, tea, cold beverages, and snacks. On the second Sunday of each month after the 10:30 service, we host Community & Cuisine, a potluck-style buffet prepared by our congregation for everyone attending the service. This is a great opportunity to get to know the church family a little better.

It is our distinct privilege to pray for you. The Elders welcome the opportunity and Biblical responsibility to pray for healing with any who would seek it according to James 5:14-16. After each worship service, an elder and his wife will be at the front of the sanctuary to pray privately with anyone requesting prayer. You can also request prayer by appointment by emailing the church. Once a month, the Elders have a dedicated meeting to pray for the congregation and the world, holding up the needs of the church including the submitted prayer requests.
